These shawls are a smaller version of traditional kaatho blankets used by maldhari tribal community people (nomad pastoralist community) from India. The maldharis travel for almost half the year with their livestock and during their travels these wool blankets help them, the wool naturally reacts to the body temperature and keeps them warm in cold winter nights and helps them keep cool when weather becomes hot.
